A Casal is a gathering place for the residents of a district to celebrate. It represents the essence of activities that take place in Valencia’s neighbourhoods. This is what will be represented by the Arena, which is a meeting point at which thousands of people will come together to enjoy sporting, cultural and entertainment events.

España (Spain) is part of the name because the venue does not only represent the city of Valencia. Rather, it also reflects the wider Valencian Community and the rest of the country. España ensures its international significance. One of our objectives is for the venue to become a tourist attraction that complements the extraordinary range of attractions found throughout Valencia, the Valencian Community and the rest of Spain.

Arena of València is an international concept that encompasses the venues, pavilions and covered stadia that are specifically designed to host top class sporting, musical or cultural events, offering huge visibility and accommodating a large number of spectators, and will be located in València.

ABOUT US

LICAMPA 1617 S.L. is a holding company of Juan Roig that has been founded specially to promote the building of a sustainable Arena in the city of Valencia. The scheme is part of the Juan Roig Legacy Project, just like other initiatives such as the Marina de Empresas, Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, Valencia Basket Club, and L’Alqueria del Basket.

Juan Roig’s aim through this legacy is to share with Valencian society the numerous benefits he has received from it. To this end, he will invest over €220 million to bestow the Arena on the city in a purely philanthropic initiative.

This project was born with a view to creating a huge multi-purpose venue in the city of Valencia. A large Arena conceived to host sporting fixtures and musical and cultural events, featuring performers and artists from Spain and further afield, thanks to its functional and flexible design.

This Arena will have the unique and exciting opportunity to rejuvenate the entertainment market. It will provide a huge covered space for entertainment events with a maximum capacity of 15,600 spectators when in basketball mode and 18,600 spectators when in concert mode, boasting a broad range of events that are suitable for all types of audience.

The Arena, which will be constructed on a 21,500 square metre plot located between Calle Ángel Villena, Calle Bomber Ramon Duart and Calle Antonio Ferrandis, will have a total constructed surface area of 47,000 square metre. The venue will offer more than 1,300 underground and above-ground parking spaces, as well as a 1,200 square metre multi-purpose room annexed to the main building. There will also be restaurant areas as well as a wide range of premises, terraces and various VIP zones. The facility will be fitted out with cutting-edge technology and the latest technical means for the broadcasting of all kinds of performances. The new headquarters of the Valencia Basket Club will also be constructed as an annex to the main building.

The project is also foreseen to entail the construction of complementary infrastructures that will serve to rejuvenate the local neighbourhood, such as a 20,000 square metre public park with green spaces and a fresh, modern infrastructure for the “Les Arts” state school.
